Friends of the Poor Walk/Run 5K
Run for a Cause. Walk for a Neighbor. Make a Difference.

One of the major fundraising events held by the Conference is the Friends of the Poor 5K Walk/Run & Kiddy-K . It is held early October, around the feast of our patron St. Vincent de Paul. One hundred percent of the proceeds directly support Calvert County residents in need.

Help Us Raise $18,000 for
Local Families in Need
Every year, the St. Katherine Drexel Conference assists approximately 600 individuals and families facing financial hardship in our community.
Just $450 can help a family avoid eviction, keep utilities connected, put food on the table, or obtain emergency assistance during a crisis.

Join Us!

Join us for the Friends of the Poor® 5K Walk/Run at beautiful Kings Landing Park in Huntingtown, Maryland.

This professionally timed 5K race features a fast, mostly flat course that winds through scenic parkland and wooded trails, making it perfect for both competitive runners and casual participants.

Bringing the Family?

Children ages 10 and under can participate in our fun-filled Kiddy-K, designed to encourage young runners while supporting a great cause.

Awards

Awards will be presented to the Overall Top Male and Female Finishers, as well as the Top Male and Female Finishers in each age division.

In addition to the race, participants and spectators can enjoy:

Special appearances by the local Fire Department
Door prizes
Raffle items
50/50 raffle
Silent auction featuring a variety of exciting items
Family-friendly entertainment throughout the morning
